Don't worry folks I have taken myself off chainsaw probation and am offically chopping wood with the gas saw. As far as gasoline driven machines go, chainsaws go forever on a two gallon container of fuel. I measure this against other forms of heating like electricity and natural gas. It works for me.
The folks at Wildroots.org cut all their wood by hand...I admire this, but am not there yet. My hands are scratched. fingers beyond ladylike repair, my thighs are bruised and my forearms ache in the middle of the night, but I am pleased to take my life in the country one step further.
