The Farm Journal

A slip of a bird has built a nest in the family mitten box. Is that the sweetest act of pastoral life ever? She is trying to sit on five eggs, which seems a miracle to me. Her rear end is so small.
Rereading this, reminds me of a conversation I had with a local business owner today.
He has been reflecting on the changes taken place in Marshall over the past few years and has come to the opinion that building the community we live in is the wisest way to see our community grow. That our objective should remain pure, to build community.
What he said resounded with me, for I was wondering why all the changes and influx of people and hype left me feeling depleted and uninspired.
Like the slip of a bird who is too small to care for the future, she does so on the wing of pure faith.
