Well,I went down a bunny hole yesterday searching for "scooter" the computer mechanic. Turns out he operates out of the basement of his inlaws house five or so miles down a twisty back road in the Walnut Creek area.
He couln't fix my space bar, but sold me a keyboard that I can plug in. Ghetto but it works.
